| It was more than 34 years ago in her native village of Nagpur, located in central India, where Usha Gupta first learned how to perform the ancient eyebrow shaping procedure known as Threading and the 5,000 year old exotic art of body painting. In 1975, with encouragement from her loving husband Shashi Gupta, Usha opened her first full service salon in her beloved Nagpur. Usha and Shashi traveled to the United States in 1993. One year later, with the strong moral support of her husband, Usha opened her first salon on Harford road in Parkville, Maryland. Usha has been widely credited for being the first to bring the traditions of Threading and Body Painting to Baltimore and its surrounding counties. Threading is the art of removing the smallest of facial hairs there by giving a precise shape to the eyebrow and leaving the skin baby soft. Usha is a true pioneer in her craft! Close |
